Senior Envirothon
The Envirothon is a nationally-recognized environmental themed competition for high school students. Each participating school in Elk County competes against one another for a chance to move to the state competition. Students are tested in the topics of wildlife, forestry, aquatic ecology, soils and land use, and a current issue topic that is changed yearly.Elk County Conservation District staff coordinate the Elk County Envirothon competition and provide educational lessons for participating students.

Envirothon Lessons
Elk County Conservation District staff travel to classrooms to provide lessons on Envirothon topics.

Envirothon Study Day
Each year, a study day is hosted for all participating students prior to the competition. Industry professionals attend the event to teach students about their topic of expertise.

Competition Day
Students travel between stations to be tested on the various topics covered as part of the Envirothon. These tests are made by the Pennsylvania Envirothon and include both written and hands-on portions.
Junior Envirothon
The Junior Envirothon is an environmental themed completion for middle school students in Elk County. This competition serves as a great way to get students interested and prepared for the Senior Envirothon.
