About Us
The Elk County Conservation District is one of Pennsylvania’s 66 county conservation districts that work hard to enhance and protect our local resources. We work hand in hand with local community members, state/federal agencies, and other interested parties to accomplish this mission.
There are a lot of different things to keep track of here at the conservation district, and they all have long titles. So, here is a list of acronyms that we commonly use!

Who We Are
Conservation Districts are the bridges between local communities and the state/federal government. County Conservation Districts operate under the belief that conservation works best when local people-those who live and work in the area-play an active role in managing their natural resources. Because Conservation Districts are familiar with local issues, they are able to manage the resources of a particular area. We are here to provide you with the opportunity to speak to a real voice when you have a question or concern about something in your county!

Our Mission...
The Elk County Conservation District’s mission is to promote sound environmental stewardship through leadership, education, and technical assistance for the benefit of the environment and future generations.

Our Vision...
The Elk County Conservation District encourages the wise use of our natural resources while providing for the conservation of our soil and water resources for present and future generations.

What We Do
Elk County is a beautiful place and we want to take care of it. As a result, we have partnered with many other entities to complete some really great projects that enhance, improve, and protect our environment. We would like to thank all of our partners for the great work they do to protect our natural resources. We would also like to thank YOU- the citizens of Elk County!
